LK243 UnderSail tour is Launched

I spent 5 weeks onboard the Swan during the Tall Ships Races 2011 as artist in residence, with a one month on land in North Uist and Shetland to start getting thoughts and ideas down on paper. After a further six months the exhibition was ready to tour. The first opening took place on 27th April 2012 at an talla solais in Ullapool, Scotland.

The exhibition then travelled to Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Art Gallery in Lochmaddy, North Uist, Outer Hebrides.

In August it crossed the North Sea and arrived at Galleri VOX, Bergen, with a plan for a big celebration when the Swan was scheduled to collect the exhibition and take it back to the UK on the weekend of 8th Sept. **Due to bad weather in the North Sea the Swan did not make the crossing to Bergen.

LK243 UnderSail opened, with an artists presentation at Northern Print, Newcastle on the 3rd Oct.

In 2013 the exhibition was shown at BABE - Bristol Artists Book Event at the Arnolfini in Gallery 5 on 21st-22nd April, and was presented at IMPACT 8 International Print Conference, Dundee. The final part for the tour for 2013 was at Shetland's Wordplay book festival in September, where I gave an artist's talk to a packed auditorium.

Shetland Arts is organised the touring exhibition.
